Pakistan’s Pride: Arfa Karim, World’s Youngest MCP

The story of grief came from Pakistan. Arfa Karim, a former owner of the record holder of Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) the youngest in the world, died on Saturday, January 14, 2012.

Arfa Karim stole the attention of the world after successfully bagging the MCP in 2004, or when she was only 9 years old. Achievement is put Arfa as the youngest person in the world who managed to obtain a MCP (although in 2008 the record was broken the other little programmers from India, M. Lavinashree).

Impressed by his accomplishments, Bill Gates to personally invite Arfa to come to Microsoft headquarters in Seattle, USA. Arfa also had the honor of speaking at Tech-Ed Developers Conference in Barcelona in 2006.

In his own country, Arfa name so fragrant. He was awarded the Fatima Jinnah prestigious award in science and technology. He also became the youngest recipient of special awards Pakistani President Pride of Performance Award.

Arfa actually being educated in Lahore Grammar School to pursue a dream of studying at MIT. But God turned out to have other plans. On December 22, 2011, Arfa suffered epileptic seizures that result in damage to the heart and brain. Since then, Arfa was in a coma in hospital Combine Military Hospital, Lahore. The situation had reportedly improved, even sticking Arfa plans to move to a hospital in the U.S. on the recommendation of Bill Gates.

But after 26 days fighting, Arfa finally breathed his last, at the age of only 16 years old.
